"Bowleaze," inspired by days at the beach and the need for something on your shoulders as the sun goes down to keep the cooler breeze off, or to keep the burning sun off! The design is inspired by the choppy sea in one Vixter's favourite swimming spots and by the seaweed clinging and frothing around the jetty.
It's not a difficult knit but it does have challenges - the yarn isn't the easiest to work with but it is worth it and the pattern needs you to be able to apply the stitch pattern without having every row written out for you.
Finished size is a long, shallow V to suit an average adult - approximately 200cm wingspan, 45cm nape to tip excluding tassels.
The kit includes the pattern and the yarn (two balls of King Cole Opium - 54% cotton, 42% premium acrylic, 4% polyamide) to make one shawl. You will also need a set of 4mm circular knitting needles, 80-100cm long. You can start the shawl on straight needles but as it grows, you need the circulars to accommodate the large number of stitches. We also suggest that you use wooden needles - they behave better with the yarn.
Please note - the pattern and yarn are not currently available for sale separately, just as part of the kit.
