The gorgeous new yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners which is an innovative blend of 50% Tencel Lyocell and 40% Falklands Islands wool, which creates a fully traceable, sustainable yarn with a gorgeous lustre. Let's see what the manufacturers have to tell us about it:
"Tencel - A Naturally Harmonious Blend
Soft and smooth to the touch with a luxurious sheen and flattering drape, TENCEL™ Lyocell boasts many properties which perfectly complement wool.
Harvested from sustainably managed wood sources, TENCEL™ Lyocell is certified as biodegradable and compostable, making this yarn revertible back to nature.
Grazing in the beautiful wilderness, Falkland Islands sheep enjoy some of the greenest conditions and produce the finest fleece, prized for its purity and handle.
Fully traceable and derived from natural origins, this unique fibre blend leads to a yarn with great strength, natural breathability and gentleness against the skin."
Sounds good to us! It's lovely to knit with and the fabric you create has a bounce and liveliness that's warm but still light to wear.
It's a standard DK so you can use just about any DK pattern you like (check your tension first though!) but the great news is that there's a free lacy-yoked tee pattern when you buy the yarn for it (six balls or more). You can find the pattern on the West Yorkshire Spinners website as a free download or we will include a printed copy with your order - just let us know you'd like it. There's an image here that tells you everything you need to make the top.
Each 50g ball has approximately 112m, hand-wash only, do not tumble dry, reshape whilst damp.
