Vixter says: "I absolutely adore the rhythm of the changing seasons and love the idea of celebrating them with decorations. This wreath is inspired by the bounty we used to decorate the church with at harvest-time and then auctioned off with great merriment the day after the Harvest Festival. Hazel was the postmistress in our tiny village on the edge of the Cotswolds, much loved by everyone and one of my mum’s greatest partners in village life. Hazel always made a magnificent loaf of bread for the Harvest Festival, along with gorgeous flower arrangements. Hazel is long gone so I name this wreath in her honour. It’s once of my most favourite creations - I hope you enjoy it as much as I have."
Nothing like as difficult to make as it looks, you only need to be able to do basic crochet stitches - chains, double crochet, half trebles and trebles. It uses oddments of DK yarn; you could change the colours too if wished - for instance worked in shades of rusts and gold the ivy leaves become acer or sycamore leaves.

King Cole Big Value 4ply - Black
King Cole Big Value Chunky - Spice (about 30g)
6mm - used only for wreath base.
3.5mm hook - used for all other components.
You will also need a 20cm wreath ring, a small amount of stuffing, a movable stitch marker, a sewing needle with large eye and decent point, about 2m of 40mm cotton tape to cover the base and a length of jute to hang the wreath.
