A  design collaboration between friends is always good! “Hey, Jude!” is heavily inspired by a basic design by Judith Murdoch. It’s not identical to Judith’s original; I adapted it so that the pattern itself was as uncomplicated as possible. The maths was quite difficult too, to keep the shallow V which was the main feature of Judith’s design. I got there in the end!

There are options in the instructions to make the shawlette as easy as you like or a bit more complicated, with a couple of different stitch patterns that you can add in or leave out.

You will also need a 4mm crochet hook and two 100g balls King Cole Riot DK. If you follow the stitch pattern exactly as set, you will use every scrap of the yarn so don't waste any. If you add in any more of textured stitch rows, you will need more yarn.

You can use any yarn you like to make this design, just be sure to change your hook size to suit and beware that you will need a different quantity depending on the yarn. You can also make it as big as you like, but again, you'll need more yarn.

If you would like us to e-mail the pattern to you, click "pick up" and say you'd like an e-mail version, which we will be happy to provide instead of the printed version, thus saving postage and paper.
