Wunderklecks - each ball is unique as the yarn is knitted up into a blank piece, then hand-painted, then re-wound into a colourful ball.
Each ball is approximately 100g/420m (a bit longer than most 4ply yarns) of 75% wool/25% biodegradable nylon 4ply. It's great for socks as well as any other project calling for 4ply. Suggested needle size 2-3mm and it should be suitable for most 4ply designs but do check your own tension! One ball is more than enough for a pair of socks.
The colours are typical of hand-dyed yarns in that there are bands of colour changes but they are all flecked and soft changes rather than hard stripes. There is a picture of the colourway on the yarn label (shown here) but that's just an indication of what to expect rather than the exact colour changes, as each ball is unique. The yarn has a very slight crinkly that leaves a hint of texture when it's knitted (or crocheted) back up.
