A versatile crochet pattern that was originally designed for a "tricky" yarn to crochet - it was all fluffy and fleecy and could be difficult to see the stitches, so Vixter designed it so that most of the stitches were worked into big gaps, which made it much easier. The pattern is suitable for a beginner who is ready to move onto a bigger project without worrying whether the finished garment fits.
You can use any yarn you like for this pattern (the original, Mondial's Trio, is long discontinued) as the stitch pattern just repeats until the shawl is as big as you wish, you've run out of yarn or you want to finish and move on to the next project. As an example, 100g of 4ply will give you a shawlette or bandana-style neckerchief; 200g will make a shawl that will wrap around and have the "V" at the front OR the back.
You'll also need a hook of appropriate size for your yarn to give the tension you like. For instance 3.25mm for 4ply, 4mm for DK, 5mm Aran. You probably don't want to go as big as chunky or the gaps will be a bit too gappy. Don't hesitate to mix yarns and textures - have a look at some of the photos of "ones we made earlier." Just change yarn whenever you feel like it.
If you'd like your pattern posted out, choose "small letter" at checkout; if you wish you can collect it from the shop, in which case choose "pick up."
