Be part of the Autumn/Winter top fashion trend while enjoying some easy knitting in the comfort of the Bear Hotel in Devizes. Sunday 17th November, 2.30pm.
Yes, mini scarves/shawls, otherwise known as draught excluders, are The Big Thing this season; I'll talk you through how to make your own how YOU want it. It's a fairly informal session, as much a social event as a workshop.
You'll get a gorgeous skein of Malabrigo Arroyo yarn (enough to make two mini scarves) in the colour of your choice, plus a stitch marker. some practice yarn and full tuition as well as a discount voucher for Pins & Needles. Oh, I'll wind the skein for you beforehand. Arroyo is pure merino, very high quality/high welfare sheep, hand-dyed in South America. I'm wearing "Sea Slug" in the photo but please note that the images here are only indicative of the colours as hand-dyed of this nature can vary between skeins. If you are unsure, pop into the shop and have a look-see.
If you can't wear wool, please let me know and I'll come up with some options but I can't change the price of the workshop if the yarn is cheaper!
There are no refreshments included - I've left those out because The Bear has a very well stocked bar (including tea/coffee/soft drinks) so you can decide yourself what and when you have.
You'll need to bring a pair of 3.5mm knitting needles, they can be straight or circular, whichever you prefer. Don't forget your purse for your refreshments, plus of course I'll have some additional goodies to tempt you with, including a fabulous book by Rico that contains LOTS of patterns for mini shawls.
Cancellation policy: This is important! If I cancel, you'll get all your money back. If you cancel, I can only issue a refund if I can sell your place to someone else (assuming we are fully booked). If I am unable to sell your place, I'll offer you the workshop goody bag to keep anyway.
Note: We will not be using the original Sophie pattern but you can if you wish download it from the designer, Petite Knit.
£25 per person, places must be booked in advance please, here or in cash at Pins & Needles in Devizes. There's no ticket to be sent out so you can choose "pick up" at the checkout and you'll get an e-mail confirmation.
Venue - the Bear Hotel is smack bang in the middle of Devizes, in the Market Place. They have their own car park at the back but it is small; there's loads of parking in the Market Place as well as bicycle racks and motorbike parking, as well as the main bus stops.
