"Footsie 4ply is a gorgeous variegated acrylic yarn with added PBT to give strength, structure and added wear of socks. Footsie colours are titled after sumptuous fruits and the variegation perfectly characterises this. Ideal for those who are allergic to wool but also want to wear fun and fruity socks!"
That's what King Cole say. They are spot on! The PBT also gives a little elasticity for a great fit.
As beautiful as it is, this yarn hasn't done very well in my shop in Devizes for a while now so I'm giving you the opportunity to get this new-old-stock at a bargain price (we had it in the shop at £5.25). One ball will knit a pair of socks, I suspect it would be enough to crochet a pair too. Of course it's not just for socks either - you can use it for any 4ply design, subject of course to checking your tension.
Each 100g ball has 430 metres (that's a great metreage) and the suggested tension is 28sts x 36 rows on 3.25mm needles. That's a pretty standard 4ply tension but if I were using it for socks, I would use finer needles, say 2.75m. It's 93% acrylic, 7% PBT, machine washable at 30 degrees, cool tumble dry.
Please note - this yarn is no longer in stock in Pins & Needles Devizes but you MAY collect it from there once ordered to save you the postage cost.
PS: Simply Footsie is the plain version of Footsie. Dragon Fruit has vivid stripes of hot pink and lime/mustard on a white flecked background, Lemon is subtle stripes shades of yellow.
