Clarissa - inspired by a record-breaking carp!
This pattern is a good introduction to lace knitting and is suitable for a relative beginner who is looking to improve their skills, or for an experienced knitter who would like a relatively straightforward-but-impressive make.
You can use pretty much any "hairy" yarn from a light DK to a 4-ply; the original used one ball of Shawlie by Sirdar but more recently we've seen it made from one or two balls of James C Brett Shhh. If you would like either of these yarns please contact me to discuss colour, price, postage etc. You need 392m total length, more if you wish to make your scarf in a wider or longer wrap.
You will also need a pair of 6mm knitting needles and (optional) a 25mm pompom maker. Full pattern support will be given should you wish.
