Like mohair but don't want to pay mohair prices? Try this yarn, it's fluffy like mohair but is a blend of acrylic and wool (80%/20%). Each 100g ball has a whopping 550m, easily enough for a shawlette/scarf and lots of hats & mitts!
The multicoloured balls have long colour changes that wash in and out of each other in bands, they are not hard lines but the overall effect is one of soft stripes.
It IS a lightweight DK, you might like to call it sportweight, it WILL knit to a standard DK tension (the fluffiness fills in the gaps as it were) and the resulting fabric will be a lot lighter than with a more standard thickness DK. If you use it for any patterns other than specifically for Shhh, you really must check your tension before you get too far! Vixter Woolista has created some designs especially for this yarn; check out Layla Mitts & Cowl (crochet), Peaseblossom (knitted scarf/cowl) and Midsummer Mitts. Vixter can also state with confidence that it makes fabulous crochet granny squares! The jumper she's wearing in one of the photos is made from Shhh.
Lots of colours in stock, they'll be added here ASAP.
Please note - this yarn is not available in Pins & Needles in Devizes but once ordered here you may arrange to collect it from the shop to save on postage.
