Vixter's been itching to make a hat to go with her "Prince" mittens for ages and ages; now it's here! It's the same yarn and same simple mock-cable stitch, which forms a rib - making the beanie super snug and cosy but remaining lightweight and squishy. Just the thing to screw up in the back pocket of your cycling jacket to whip out at the top of the mountain while you have your hot chocolate.  Would make an awesome gift for anyone, not just cyclists!

What looks like a cable is not, it's pretend - you don't need a cable needle and it's ever so easy to do.

This beanie will fit an average size adult but can also be easily adapted for smaller or bigger heads.

You will need 50g of luxury DK (why make such a fabulous pattern in boring ordinary yarn?) - Vixter used Adriafil's Impero, which is a blend of wool, bamboo and yak with a touch of nylon. Has to be felt to be believed. Yes, just 50g is enough for this hat!

You'll also need a set of 4mm double-pointed needles.

We can post out a printed copy of the pattern as a small letter but if you'd prefer (for instance if you'd like to save paper or want it sooner), we can e-mail you a copy - click "local delivery" and send us a message to say you'd like it e-mailed to you.

We would like to offer many thanks to our friend and colleague Linda Fivash for her expert test knitting xx

Please note this pattern, like all our patterns, is sold on the basis that it is for personal use only and must not be used to make hats to sell.
